SCF Nederland

The Stichting Shade Children Foundation Nederland was founded October 22, 2013. The Dutch foundation fundraises for the children's home of SCF in Kenya and advises the Kenyan board on all kind of issues.

Below we'll introduce the Dutch board members. Next to that we use this page to keep you informed about our Policy Plans and Yearly reports.

Mr. André Kooijman - Chairman

My name is André Kooijman. I live in Brabant with my wife and two sons. As a family we are involved with Shade Children Foundation from the early beginning. Personally I like to be creative and think about all kind of ways for fundraising with just one goal: support the children of Shade Children Foundation and arrange whatever needed. I'm certain that we make the difference for 'our children' and are giving them a chance fo a future.

I'm Dina van Doesburg, married with Bas and we have two grown up children. The last years I've been working as a Manager and as a Human Resource Advisor at Rabobank in the Netherlands. In June 2012 I graduated and got the bachelor degree in Applied Psychology. I was a volunteer in Thika, Kenya in June 2007. The people and especially the children from Kenya stole my heart and I never stopped thinking about and working for them.
Shade house/Kenya has become my second home.

Mrs. Birgitte van Eck - Secretary

My name is Birgitte and I live with my husband and three teenage children in the Betuwe. I worked with Dina at Rabobank and through her enthousiasm I became interested and involved with Shade. In September 2018 I joined the board. I believe that I, and also all other volunteers in The Netherlands and Belgium, can contribute and can help to give the children in Shade a better future.

Mr. Bas van Doesburg - Member

I'm Bas van Doesburg and I'm a contractor by profession.
After my wife Dina went to Kenya as a volunteer and later on as a board member several times, I joined her in august 2012. The children and people of Kenya stole my heart from the moment I arrived and although I already was involved before, I became even more enthusiastic and active in fundraising and I joined the board of the SCF NL in 2013. I hope I can contribute to the wellbeing of Shade Children and give them a chance in life.

Mr. Ronny van der Reeth en Ms. Marleen Audoor - Shared Membership

We are Ronny Van der reeth and Marleen Audoor, we have a newly composed family.

Ronny works as an employee of the national Belgian railroads. He has one adult son, Jeroen.

Marleen is a nurse and works at the hospital on a general nursing unit. She has two daughters, Ingrid and Ann, both adults.

In November 2016, we visited Shade for the first time to meet Joyce, the teenage girl we sponsor. Not only Joyce, but all the children living at Shade immediately held a special place in our hearts. We felt very welcome and at ease and it was an experience we will never forget. This was the main reason we went back in 2017, do some chores with the children, make some small talk, play games … so many little things, but oh so meaningful. For us too, Shade is gradually becoming our second home!

Therefore, we both decided, after being asked by Dina, to become members of the Dutch board of SCF-NL. We will happily continue to make efforts to ensure that the children at Shade have a great time.
